BULLY PROOF KIDS
JAFPM is proud to offer the BULLY PROOF KIDS program as part of the Life Cycles approach to fall prevention and mobility.
Program Mission:
Strengthening character while improving physical conditioning, flexibility, and mobility
Working with younger kids, ranging from elementary to middle school ages primarily.
Develop improved:
Discipline and self-confidence
Program Focus:
Develop the physical skills and mental attitude to be confident in themselves, supportive of others, and able to deal with bullying and other conflict in a appropriate way.
Method of Instruction:
Using Jiu Jitsu techniques. Teach elements of both Aikido and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) primarily.
Jiu Jitsu involves developing skills for using technique and leverage to accept the force of the attacker while protecting yourself. The focus is not on being the aggressor but on how to successfully defend from an attack and control the attacker with the minimum amount of force practical.
There are also sport type BJJ techniques which will be shown to help encourage greater conditioning and allow opportunity for students to practice various techniques in a enjoyable and supportive way, though this element will not be the primary focus of the class.
